In statements to the media in Geneva, Rupert Colville, spokesman for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, specified that around 2,800 of those victims were fatal in the country in the Arabian Peninsula, where combats between the Government and the rebels continue, as well as the foreign bombings.
There was an escalation of the internal crisis in late March, when Saudi Arabia and its regional allies started air raids against the country.
According to Colville, in December, at least 81 civilians died and 109 were wounded, most of them during the foreign bombings.
The spokesman said the bombings continued the New Year, with at least 11 of them reported in the capital city Sanaa on January 3-4, besides some of them carried out Tuesday morning.
We do not have details of the recent consequences of those actions, but reports show their impact on public civil buildings and private others, he said.
Clville mentioned the impact on the population of the confrontations between the Government troops and the rebels in Yemen, where the UN estimated that 80 percent of its inhabitants have some need for humanitarian aid.
